Nia* was orphaned in the sixth grade.
While trying to find work, she eventually became entrapped in a Red-Light District of Ethiopia.
In East Africa, many girls like Nia face the nightmare of trafficking, but Crisis Aid’s Girls Village offers a long-term, comprehensive solution to help them break free and build a better future.
Located in Sebatta, Ethiopia, the Girls Village is designed to address critical needs, and overcome cultural barriers and generational struggles.
The village includes a Refuge Home for 100 girls and their children, providing a safe haven and supportive environment. An eight-floor Commerce Building and Vocational School offer opportunities for skills training, both for the girls in the Home and the surrounding community.
Additionally, a Bible College will educate locals on integrating biblical principles into the workplace. This vision includes rentable spaces, creating a sustainable income model to ensure the longevity of the Girls Village.
While many components are already operational, the goal is to have the entire initiative fully functional within five years.
Our Mercy Chapel Vocational School offered Nia and hundreds of others a way out of sexual slavery. She is studying hard and now has dreams of opening a hairdressing shop!
Thank you for empowering girls like Nia to break free from poverty and trafficking, offering them hope for generations to come.
